Mentors help with a specific aspect\/challenge of your business. Their time may or may not be free.\u00a0 There\u2019s usually an aspect of the mentor seeing themself in the new\/young entrepreneur and wanting to offer their experience.

However, bear in mind that they may not be the best person to validate your\u00a0idea!<\/h3>\n

Ideas have to be validated by your potential customers.\u00a0 If you can get someone to pay to use your product or service, there\u2019s<\/em> your\u00a0validation.<\/h4>\n

Mentors are Experts, not Generalists<\/h3>\n

Your particular product\/service, market, customers and\u00a0situation all differ from those of other entrepreneurs.\u00a0 Look for an expert in your industry or market sector, who\u2019s been in a similar position to you, and is able to resolve the issues you\u2019re facing.\u00a0 (You can get general startup advice from Business Advisors, often for free.)<\/p>\n
