Who is Executive Coaching for?
Executive coaching is designed for leaders who are committed to develop their own skills. Typically, this might be CEO’s, Managing Directors, Business Owners, Managers, Team Leaders or Supervisors.
What does it involve?
A separate individual or key people from a company would work with the coach. This would be on a one to one basis, through a clearly structured process, for a fixed period of time, on agreed deliverables.
Introductory meeting
The individual and coach meet to exchange information about career histories, interests and expectations of coaching. The individual will assess whether the coach can provide the right level of challenge, support and stretch for their needs and the coach will assess if they are the right person to help.
Coaching Sessions
The individual works with the coach on key personal aspects to create successful strategies going forwards. To have a non judgemental, confidential sounding board is often particularly valued. Learning and development are embodied within the framework.
How long is a session?
Scheduled sessions will be at an agreed time and date for one hour or two hours, depending on your requirements.
How do sessions take place?
Sessions are generally scheduled every 2 to 4 weeks, to allow progress to be made quickly, but this is adaptable to the needs of the individual, the organisation and current workload.
The format will be what’s convenient to you and will work best for what you want to achieve (e.g. face to face, telephone, Skype call, etc.). It’s recommended that coaching is face to face for the best results, either at your office or at the coach’s premises in a quiet, confidential environment.
‘Phone/video calls are made by the coach to the client. ‘Phone calls must be to a landline number to get a good quality for the call. Video calls may only be possible with a certain minimum broadband speed and certain applications.
What is coaching likely to cost? How many sessions might be needed?
The coaching agreement generally lasts for 4 – 6 sessions. However, it’s not unusual for the customer to request the agreement be extended for a further 3 to 6 months to ensure consolidation of personal and business objectives.
The cost will necessarily reflect your requirements, but, as a guide:
Level 1 – The Basics
Four x two hour session programme (including training materials), for one person, would be £550
Level 2 – Advanced
Four x two hour session programme (including training materials), for one person, would be £1100
Additional sessions can be added to each level at £60 per hour and £120 per hour, respectively.
Is progress reviewed?
A review process is built in to enable coach and coachee/s to assess progress on a regular basis to maximise the benefit to each individual and to the bottom line of the business.
What are the deliverable and outcomes?
Specific intended results and success measures are developed with each individual and are likely to include:
- clarity of the individual contribution needed to deliver the strategy
- developing individual key strengths for delivering business benefits
- setting goals and objectives that inspire and motivate towards success
- focus, decision making and getting past “stuck” points
- developing resilience to deal with the challenges ahead
- alignment of values for the individual and the business
